The 20 Franc Napoleon coin was issued by the Paris mint form 1861 until 1870. These coins contain 5.8 grams of gold bullion, and the coins have a purity of 900, which was the standard for gold coins at that time. The toal weight of each coin is 6.45 grams. The front of each coin features an image of Napoleon Bonaparte, with a laurel crown upon his head. Encircling his head are the words 'Napoleon III Empereur'. The reverse of each coin features the official French coat of arms with the words ' Empire Francais', with the coin's face value and year of minting located at the bottom. These coins are sold as common date, which means that any year may be supplied. France has also released other famous gold coins, including the French Rooster coins.
