Leopold II continued this tradition, issuing gold Franc coins from 1869 - 1909. Albert I, who was Leopold II's successor, only issued these coins for one year, in 1914. Coins sold in this listing are common date, which means that any of the above mentioned years may be supplied. One unique features of the 1914 issue coins is that they were issued in two different languages, Flemish and French, with half issued in each language. These coins feature a portrait image of each leader on the front. The reverse side of each coin features two olive branches, with the coin's legal tender value and year of minting located in the middle. Many other European countries also launched their own gold coins. These include the Swiss Vrenelithe Italian Lira coin, and the Dutch Guilder.
